In particular, the female idol wrote, “What a ride. Thank you Mike White for trusting in me to fulfill the role of Mook and bring her character to life. It was the greatest honor to be part of this show as my first acting gig alongside such incredible actors.”

She also expressed her pride, adding, “And I’m so proud to be able to share my culture and show the beauty of Thailand to the world. Mook has changed my life in a way where I am learning more about myself and my capabilities. My Sunday nights may feel a lot emptier but closing out ‘The White Lotus’ with a full heart.”

Resurfacing Nepotism Criticism

At the same time, despite earning a lot of praise for her acting, Lisa’s screen time totaled to merely ten minutes throughout the season. This brief appearance has reignited discussions about previous allegations of “nepotism” directed at the female idol.

Particularly, back in November 2024, Lisa was featured on the cover of Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Issue, a platform highlighting actors making significant strides in the industry. Her inclusion prompted mixed reactions, with some questioning the merit behind her selection and speculating that her rumored relationship with Frédéric Arnault, CEO of LVMH Watches, might have influenced her Hollywood opportunities.

Now, following the conclusion of “The White Lotus” Season 3, journalist Louis Pisano commented on Lisa’s limited screen presence, stating, “Ten total minutes of air time does not a Hollywood star make.”

This remark further fueled the nepotism debate, suggesting that Lisa’s brief role didn’t justify the Hollywood spotlight she received.

Fans Rally in Lisa’s Defense

Supporters of Lisa, however, were quick to counter these claims. In particular, some highlighted that other actors, such as Zendaya in “Dune”, had minimal screen time yet were prominently featured in promotional activities, emphasizing the value of star power in marketing strategies. They then pointed out that Lisa’s involvement, including her cultural roots in Thailand and massive popularity, likely attracted a broader audience to “The White Lotus,” potentially boosting viewership figures.

Additionally, it was pointed out that Radhika Jones, the Editor-In-Chief of US media Vanity Fair, previously addressed the nepotism accusations themselves, stating that Lisa’s appearance was their way of saying that Lisa’s incredibly famous, but they are going to introduce her in a new context.

Mike White, creator of “The White Lotus”, also admitted initial reservations about casting Lisa due to her immense fame in Thailand. However, her dedication and audition performance convinced him of her suitability for the role, to the point he compared the female idol to a combination between Taylor Swift and Princess Diana.
